Target 7: By 2021, incentives that are harmful to biodiversity are eliminated and/or phased out, and positive incentives for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity are promoted.

Thailand has recognized the cross-sectoral participation in conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity as a driving force in developing mechanisms to eliminate and/or phase out incentives that are harmful to biodiversity and to promote positive incentives for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, particularly in local communities. This also takes into account the pre-existing efforts of the private sector and research communities that contribute to the conservation and sustainable use.
