Did you know that the coastal and marine environment of the ASEAN region supports the highest marine biodiversity in the world?
However, according to studies, the current status of the coastal and marine habitats in the different ASEAN Member States is declining. But, there is an effective strategy to counter this decline in the health of these habitats: the establishment of large effectively managed marine protected areas (MPAs) and MPA networks.
