Target 5: By 2020, regulations and legislations that obstruct participation in biodiversity management are revised.

Thailand has a national policy on biodiversity management. However, several agencies have therefore remained unaware of their own missions under such policies. This shortcoming has resulted in the lack of regulation and legislation that encourage cross-sectoral participation in biodiversity management while pre-existing laws and regulations with a focus on stringent control and preservation of biodiversity components have become an obstacle to the participation in the sustainable management of biological diversity.
