World Water Day

In this year's celebration of #WorldWaterDay, we celebrate groundwater as a valuable resource.

As the world’s largest distributed supply of freshwater, groundwater flows to inland waters like streams, rivers, and lakes to provide seasonal water supply to all life on land. These wetlands are vital outlets that provide freshwater for subsistence, agriculture, and industrial uses.

Aquifers, however, are threatened by overexploitation and pollution.

This World Water Day, let us rethink all our actions to ensure that it will not be harmful to the vital natural resource that is groundwater. Groundwater may be under our feet, but the solution to the crisis it faces is in our hands.
