Biodiversity has continued to provide benefits to Thailand in various ways, including agricultural produce, forest products, as well as applications of biodiversity values and relevant traditional knowledge in utilization of its components in growing food, cosmetic, health care, herbal and local production businesses. Such benefits have yielded tremendous fiscal returns to the country, enabling better distribution of wealth to local communities. Therefore, measures and mechanisms for the management of benefits derived from ecosystem services and appropriate access to natural resources should be promoted to ensure that the benefits are returned to conserve their sources in a sustainable manner.
