The Third ASEAN Conference on Biodiversity kicked off with the dialogue between the ASEAN and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). The first virtual session served as a platform for the biodiversity sector of ASEAN Member States to engage directly with the CBD and the co-chair of the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG). Representatives from ASEAN were able to develop an enhanced understanding of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework focusing on several priority areas including mainstreaming, resource mobilisation, and nature-based solutions.
